Birke TM - Forty15

Christmas Candies: Birke TM – Forty15

Specials

The 8th and last track on our Christmas Candies compilation is by Birke TM. One of the founders of Neighbour Recordings and one half of Base Pilot. Forty15 is a serious deep house stomper with lots of soul as said by the vocals: „Yeah oh yeah I got soul!“ As always Birke TM brings some unique sounding drums and percussions to the table with lots of pattern changes and multi-layered samples. The vocal truly speaks from the bottom of his and our heart to the listener. Message is key. Always! The nice mid-tempo tune strikes with organic sounds, an emotional foundation and the right amount of cosiness for these cold days. This one is a lotion for your body and soul. Providing closeness and the feeling of a warm and loving hug. Love is the theme and love is the message and love is what we all need. So, thanks for your support boys and girls. This was the last addition and we are now set and done. The tape will be out in February 2019 featuring all the free downloads. So feel free to support us and buy the tape as soon as it is ready. We hope 2019 will bring joy, love, happiness and health to you and your loved ones. Your Ohrenschmaus Podcast! <3

Hoke - Point:Click

Christmas Candies: Hoke – Point:Click

Specials

Hoke delivers the 7th track of our Christmas Candies compilation. Point:Click is like a raw sounding machine placed in a beautiful glade. Nature meets technology in this piece of music which sounds like samurais are playing around with ancient Asian samples on an MPC. Dirty drums and raw percussions are the perfect antipoles for the smooth and soft pad sounds. The audible patina has something fascinating with the wild mixture of rough and silky sounds. And that’s what we love about this production in particular, but also when it comes to Hoke’s output in general. It always offers this variety and depth in sounds that just hits a spot. Thanks for this beauty, Stefan!

Light Leak Wiesengrund Christmas Candies

Christmas Candies: Light Leak – Wiesengrund

Specials

Light Leak from Nuremberg is a friend we met several years ago due to our love for deep house. Even for those mid-tempo tunes that normally won’t be played in a club surrounding. With Wiesengrund he delivered a beautiful ambient gem. The playful field recordings add some nature vibes to the organic audio display. The Wiesengrund is a well-known place for Erlangen’s youth. There have been open airs for many years and also it’s the perfect place to spend your spare time in summer. That feeling of a summery day with screaming and playing kids is communicated with all its positivity in a flawless way. This one is a beauty that will add some light moments to your grey winter days. Thanks, Leaki for that sweet production. We will get through this rainy day now!

Ohrenschmaus Podcast #063 – Fred Buddah

Our Podcasts

Fred Buddah from South Africa is trying to push the South African deep house scene with his own sound. Incorporating mother earth’s sounds and African originals into his own interpretation of deep house and techno. It’s not just ending up in a unique sound it also brings the sound of his surroundings to people all over the world. Exactly this combination is what struck is in 2014 as he released the Mystical Arts EP on Roots Go Deep with Ofuren. Since those days we knew he had to be on our show and finally, he’s here. The founder of Roots Go Deep was immediately down with the idea of featuring him in our podcast series and now closes 2018 in a perfect manner. Earthy deep house spiced with some strong rhythms and energetic pads blast away winter’s grey sadness.

Ohrenschmaus Podcast #062 – Anaid

Our Podcasts

Our 62nd episode features Anaid. She is a passionate singer, producer and DJ from Bucharest and established herself well in the micro house scene over the last couple of years. She is releasing music since 2013 on labels like Ar.ctic, Defora Records, Micromood_rec, Plusar Recordings, Unfelde Records and Cimelde Records. We came in touch a couple of weeks ago while sharing songs and we asked her if she was kind enough to contribute when she‘s got some spare time. Thankfully she provided a deep and driving mix with a sublime selection of micro tracks and excellent mixing. We are very happy about this percussion-heavy mix that is located in-between micro house and minimal techno since it’s the first of its genre on our platform. She created a mesmerizing balance between energetic drum tracks and fluffy synth based house beauties. This interplay simply levels this podcast in great fashion. Due to this variety, this podcast holds a certain tension throughout and appeals to be a smooth roller coaster ride. Thanks for that, your Ohrenschmaus Podcast!

FUEL – Jannick Baal

FUEL

Jannick Baal is a local DJ from the Nuremberg area. As a friend of the team and a person with strong beliefs, it was clear that we had to feature him. Sound-wise he might be located in a more modern part of club music. His sound reflects his spirituality and love for clean productions. His sets transport a decent energy and steadily offer a flow that makes it easy to follow along and enjoy the night. He displayed those qualities in and around Nuremberg in locations like Haus 33, E-Werk and more.

Favourite book: Hermann Hesse – Siddhartha

The book that impressed me the most is Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse. It takes care of beauty, focus and some sort of disciplined freedom in a unique way. All of this is required to understand the concept of integrity and get a closer look.

Hermann Hesse – Siddhartha

Favourite movie or series: Too many

I really love tons of movies and series. I really care about the concept of it and the development throughout the series or the movie. The concept needs to feature exceptional characters and a storyline that is exciting. There’s nothing worse than an ending that is predictable.

Favourite track, mix or album: Too many

There’s no certain mix, album or track that I can place in the limelight so to speak. I could start a list about music that I really love and would never come to an end. To be totally honest I’m fascinated by the future and its endless possibilities. Technology is evolving so fast and always brings up new capabilities. Thanks to this evolution there are so many ways to sample, generate or reproduce sounds and create new ones. All of this can be interpreted, combined and added in several ways. It’s just an endless playground.

Hip Hop Selection #016 by Basco

Our SLCTNs

Sascha Uhlig aka Basco from ashore is a music aficionado we follow for a long time. His musical taste is close to ours regardless of the genre. For this reason, it was clear that we need him to join our roster. Since his love for and taste in hip-hop satisfies us, whether it is classic rap or more modern and pop orientated stuff. He was the number one pick for our SLCTN series. With his mix for episode 16 the Hip Hop Selection series is back after a 2-year long break. After a year now it finally worked out for both sides and it was really worth the wait. His podcast simply reflects and depicts what we’ve hoped for. German underground rap, experimental beats and US heavyweights from the past and present. The ashore member mixed artists like DJ Sotofett with Ghostface Killah, Pusha T, Eloquent and more with ease.

FUEL – Der Klient [Deep Afterhour]

FUEL

Our dear friend Der Klient is mostly known for his superb podcast Deep Afterhour. Based in Rostock he gives a nice platform to known and unknown DJs. As a DJ and podcaster, he focuses on music he really enjoys. Mostly dub techno, deep house, minimal techno and everything related with enough groove and drive. With more than 300 episodes his podcast might be one of the most influential podcast for us and it inspired us to do shows with the same quality. If you don’t know his stuff just check him out, we will link everything below. But for now, enjoy his answers about literature, moving image and music. It’s another episode of FUEL.

Favourite manga: Dragonball

In my youth, I was very interested and fascinated by the Dragonball manga. It was so easy to read, it was extremely exciting and pretty funny as well. Also, they had a cliffhanger at the end of each episode or book and you simply had to get the next one.

Favourite documentary: Feiern

The documentary Feiern really inspired me. I watched it 4-5 times I guess. It just motivated me to create something new so many times and it just worked out perfectly most of the time and it still does.

Ohrenschmaus Podcast #060 – MARKO M

Our Podcasts

MARKO M is one of the founder of Ohrenschmaus Podcast. To celebrate the 60th episode he got behind the turntables by himself. In the end he came up with 60 minutes full of house gems and soft techno. All the records came from Edbert’s collection. A long time friend who sadly passed away a few years ago. Finally Marko owns some of his friends‘ records and can carry a part of Alois with him physically. This mix features house classics from The Timwriter, Boo Williams and many more. It ranges from Chicago’s house sound to soft and melodic techno. Please enjoy Marko’s selection and Edbert’s eternal groove. Hugs and kisses, OP.

Ohrenschmaus Podcast #059 – Dubatech

Our Podcasts

Dubatech is the man behind our 59th mix in our monthly series. Fatih is a steady part of the international dub techno scene. With his „Nonagon“ tune he created a puristic masterpiece. After this release in 2009 on Baum he continued his great work and released several great dub techno tracks. All with a personal note. He really knows how to build deep and driving tracks. They all feature sublime strings and calm pads with that typical dub techno delay and reverb. Perfect for the club, but also for more intimate and calmer moments. His mix strongly bases on those qualities. He simply created a magical trip through some dub techno gems. You just can’t go wrong with Dubatech in our opinion.  Driving and deep dub sound somewhere between house and techno. We hope you enjoy the mix as much as we do. Thanks, Fatih your work is truly appreciated here. One love, Ohrenschmaus Podcast.

Ohrenschmaus Podcast #059 – Dubatech by Ohrenschmaus Podcast

Hello and welcome to episode #059 of our monthly series. This time we welcome dub legend Dubatech to our show. As we are a huge fan of his „Nonagon“ which came out on Baum in 2009 and his following releases, we, of course, had to get in touch with him.
