Porter finally released his „Elevate EP“ on Rubisco. Rubisco is the freshly found label run by Nick Beringer. After a neat bunch of releases, Nick finally launched his own imprint. The Berlin based house-head made the next step after releasing on various labels before. After the first output by himself, it is now Porter’s time to shine. Sounds cheesy, sounds good. With his „Elevate EP“, Porter showcases three strong house cuts that feature all the goods a tidy house EP has to offer. Powerful drums, solid pads, exquisite strings and a beautiful atmosphere. Let’s just get into the details.
Glenn Arkton is a very talented dj from South Africa. To be more exact from Johannesburg. He follows the series for quite a long time and we kept in touch for quite a bit of time. Always impressed by his kind and positive vibes we connected months ago and that’s when we felt how enthusiastic he is towards music. He really digs deep and soaks it all in. That deeply impressed us and so we checked his mixes and what can we say they are great. So is he and that’s why he is now contributing the 49th mix. Enjoy his superb selection and the brilliant vibe, your OP.

After Office Recordings 10th release by Iron Curtis and his „Maple EP“ Baaz is back on his own Imprint. Office Recordings 11th release, again, shows a very different side. The Berlin based dj and producer showed his broad musical taste throughout recent releases. Dub techno under his Eric Miller moniker. Sharp house sounds on the latest Idealistmusic. Techno on this very record we are reviewing. The sound ranges from dub techno to ambient and into playful techno. Another side added, another one which is way above average.
After we had some delays the last couple of times, we are now speeding up a little. Three weeks after Marc FM’s extraordinary ambient podcast, we are now back on track. Alessandro Crimi took care of our 47th edition. The „Waehlscheibe“ head honcho is on our list for a really long time. His outrageously good podcasts caught our attention a while ago and now he joins the series, finally. Besides his superb taste in house and techno music he also knows the hip-hop goodies. (Maybe we have to ask for a hip-hop podcast as well?!) Alessandro sent us this nice journey through different styles of contemporary club music, combining modern and classic house sounds. Perfect for these sunny days or your pre-drinking session on the weekend. Make sure to check this spectacular 90 minutes, your Ohrenschmaus Podcast.
After our last podcast by Marc FM who took us on a journey through ambient stuff we now warmly welcome Alessandro Crimi. We know him for quite a while with his fine Waehlscheibe label and of course his great taste in music.
Cromby is the man behind our 45th edition of the monthly displayed house and techno mixes. He blessed us with a nice selection of warm house tunes that have playful jazz elements, warm chords and deepness without limitation. The first time we stumbled across Cromby was back in the days when he released his „Planets and Parks EP“ on the Berlin based Tenderpark Imprint by Drei Farben House. Now he is living in the capital city as well and plays some finely mixed house sets in different clubs. With his Boiler Room appearance together with his mate Swoose at the AVA festival he really convinced us to get in touch with him. That’s what we did and here we are now a few months later, presenting his lovely podcast. Please have fun with it and enjoy the 45th mix on Ohrenschmaus Podcast by Cromby.
Iron Curtis makes his return to Office Recordings from Berlin with his „Maple EP“ marking the 10th release by Baaz’s imprint. After reminiscing on his „The K.M.S. Years EP“, which was the fourth release by Office Recordings, he now shows his more dubby and minimalistic side. After several releases on labels like Morris Audio, Jackoff Records, Boe Recordings, Hudd Traxx, Retreat, Polytone and his album „Soft Wide Waist Band“ on Mirau, he now highlights some dub influences. While we all followed Iron’s progress from beautiful and warm house with focus on chords and strings over to melodic and emotional club music with a more synthetic and modern approach, he secretly crafted some real beauties from the fields of dub techno and ambient, that are now offered to the public as the tenth release on Office. The „Singular Plankter“ EP by Korablove is the third release by Silhouette Tapes, which resides in Bayreuth. It was founded by cold_am, ShoutLove, VesOFF and Rostislav Kulchitskiy. On their cassette label they release some dark, dubby and experimental tracks from the fields of techno, house, ambient and everything that fits their vision. With Korablove they engaged a skilled producer who has already released his less experimental stuff on labels like Studio R, Elusive, 200 Records, Pro-Tez, Apparel Music, Herz ist Trumpf and so on. His „Singular Plankter“ EP depicts an unknown side of him, playing with everlasting pads, broad strings and calmer drums. Keep reading
We open things up with the return of Markus „Mutze“ Mutzenbacher in 2017. The Würzburg based resident of MS Zufriedenheit, Piknik and Kontur offered us a nice trip through ambient, house, techno and break beat. It is so good we had to bring him and his outstanding taste back to Ohrenschmaus Podcast. So here it is 71 minutes of well selected and precisely mixed tracks for the cold January. His great abilities are not just notable in his wonderful mixes, Markus also has the knowledge and understands the craft like no other when it comes to smooth warm ups and danceable closing sets. To put it in a nutshell he is a hell of a dj! Thanks for the second contribution to the series, we are delighted!
Markus „Mutze“ Mutzenbacher:
The second release from Olympos is called „Apollo“ and once again delivers a nice variety of contemporary club tracks from the fields of house and techno. Apollo is the god of light, cure and spring in Greek mythology to bring you the title a bit closer. As usual the artist behind this EP stays unknown for now, nevertheless it’s obvious that whoever it is really has some great sense for crafting sharp and powerful rhythms. After the strong first release the label from Greek keeps up his great effort and shapes his profile once more. Keep reading
