Base Pilot is a newly found collaborative project by Quantec and Birke TM. They not just share the passion for music, but also a long-lasting friendship and finally combined these two things. With their Life Is Rhythm EP on their own Neighbour Recordings imprint both start into a new chapter. Quantec should be a name for most of us, due to his almost endless stream of quality dub techno releases on labels like Echocord, Styrax, Silent Season and more. Birke TM also is a true music aficionado and produces beats for many years. A superb EP on London’s very own Feelharmonic Records marked his debut. Under Base Pilot, they join forces and craft everything they like. From deep house cuts to stomping dub techno. Everything is possible. With their first release as partners, they deliver a smooth package of four original tracks from the before mentioned fields of club music. This mixture of dub, house and hip-hop clearly unifies the influences of both artists and leads to a unique EP that is not missing any remix. Keep reading
Our dear friend Der Klient is mostly known for his superb podcast Deep Afterhour. Based in Rostock he gives a nice platform to known and unknown DJs. As a DJ and podcaster, he focuses on music he really enjoys. Mostly dub techno, deep house, minimal techno and everything related with enough groove and drive. With more than 300 episodes his podcast might be one of the most influential podcast for us and it inspired us to do shows with the same quality. If you don’t know his stuff just check him out, we will link everything below. But for now, enjoy his answers about literature, moving image and music. It’s another episode of FUEL.
Favourite manga: Dragonball
In my youth, I was very interested and fascinated by the Dragonball manga. It was so easy to read, it was extremely exciting and pretty funny as well. Also, they had a cliffhanger at the end of each episode or book and you simply had to get the next one.
Favourite documentary: Feiern
The documentary Feiern really inspired me. I watched it 4-5 times I guess. It just motivated me to create something new so many times and it just worked out perfectly most of the time and it still does.
Favourite album: Massive Töne – Kopfnicker
It’s a rap album that heavily influenced me and still does. There’s not much to say about it. Just great beats and rhymes from Stuttgart.

MARKO M is one of the founder of Ohrenschmaus Podcast. To celebrate the 60th episode he got behind the turntables by himself. In the end he came up with 60 minutes full of house gems and soft techno. All the records came from Edbert’s collection. A long time friend who sadly passed away a few years ago. Finally Marko owns some of his friends‘ records and can carry a part of Alois with him physically. This mix features house classics from The Timwriter, Boo Williams and many more. It ranges from Chicago’s house sound to soft and melodic techno. Please enjoy Marko’s selection and Edbert’s eternal groove. Hugs and kisses, OP.
There is not much left to say about Iron Curtis. The Berlin based and Nuremberg raised dj and producer made quite a name for himself over the years. With releases on labels like Mirau, Morris Audio, Office Recordings, Hudd Traxx, Sudden Drop and many more he displayed his versatile understanding of club sounds. It ranges from sunny house to mid-tempo deep house, chord heavy techno and all the way to very harmonic and melodic arranged gems. All of those influences can be found in his dj sets of course and his last live recording really got us hooked. Old school chord house meets trance elements and raw techno bangers with acid elements. All topped with a sprinkle of cheesy and soulful vocals every now and then. Simply entertaining and uplifting throughout. Please enjoy his mix recorded in May this year at Bassiani in Tbilisi shortly before the raid happened.
Dubatech is the man behind our 59th mix in our monthly series. Fatih is a steady part of the international dub techno scene. With his „Nonagon“ tune he created a puristic masterpiece. After this release in 2009 on Baum he continued his great work and released several great dub techno tracks. All with a personal note. He really knows how to build deep and driving tracks. They all feature sublime strings and calm pads with that typical dub techno delay and reverb. Perfect for the club, but also for more intimate and calmer moments. His mix strongly bases on those qualities. He simply created a magical trip through some dub techno gems. You just can’t go wrong with Dubatech in our opinion. Driving and deep dub sound somewhere between house and techno. We hope you enjoy the mix as much as we do. Thanks, Fatih your work is truly appreciated here. One love, Ohrenschmaus Podcast.
Hello and welcome to episode #059 of our monthly series. This time we welcome dub legend Dubatech to our show. As we are a huge fan of his „Nonagon“ which came out on Baum in 2009 and his following releases, we, of course, had to get in touch with him.
New year new heat. With podcast #056 we start into the new season with Andreas Koenig. He’s a long time friend, promoter and dj. With his Badebeats and Bergbeats collective he hosts some fabulous open airs in the Nuremberg area. On top of that he plays at Kiss Klub every now and then with his homeboys as well. Besides being a very kind person we really like a lot he also brings some serious heat to the floor with his steady grooving selections. Deeply rooted in the minimal techno and micro house fields he always plays records that simply bounce through and hook you on the grooves with no effort. With his selection for our January podcast he also offers a more melodic and experimental side in the beginning and towards the end. Thanks for your effort, the great mix and your friendship Andi. We really appreciate that, your OP.

Episode 55 of our small mix series ends the year 2017 perfectly. RNDM created a sublime mixture of genre crossing house and techno tunes. Agile and emotional at the same time this mix is more than enjoyable. It’s pleasing. Dubby house crackers smoothly transist into spherical techno. You can sense some pop references as well as some disco chips spread across Oliver’s mix. We are more than happy with his podcast and the year musically. Besides his great taste and style in playing records RNDM also knows how to craft state of the art techno and house. That’s how we took notice of him. His releases on Laid Records and Naïf hardly ever leave our bags when we are hosting SWEEP or play on other parties. We really hope you enjoy the christmas edition of Ohrenschmaus Podcast as much as we do. The perfect gift for house heads and techno enthusiasts, from RNDM and Ohrenschmaus. We’ll be back in 2018 with more music and more articles as well. Stay safe, your OP.
Episode 55 is our final one for 2017 and somehow also a small christmas special, at least it feels like one to us. With RNDM we got one of our favorite producers involved in our project. His releases on Laid Records hardly ever leave our bags and with his output on Naïf it’s quite the same.
With our 54th mix we warmly welcome Arsy. Thanks to our strong network, in this case Marc FM, we had the chance to get in touch with this young man. After a quick research in our record collection we stumbled across his name on a few EPs we own. Dough! With releases and productions for Laubenpiepers Finest, liebe*detail and many more this lad already made a few things right production wise if you would be more than humble. As a DJ he keeps up with that high quality standard and heavily spins dub and acid infused tracks whenever he’s behind those lovely Technics turntables. Exactly that’s what he sent us for the 54th Ohrenschmaus Podcast. Melodic dub techno with sweet breaks, long-lasting chords and lots of meditational elements. At the mid section of his mix he slowly brings in rough and powerful drum sounds that introduce us to soft acid synths that evolve into loud and harsh wolves towards the end. We really feel the winter with all his beauty and dark energy when we listen to this podcast time and time again. Great work throughout, but have a listen by yourself. Thanks Arsy, stomping work!

Edition 53 is finally online and what a surprise, it is superb. We stumbled across Freund der Familie a few years ago when Baaz made a remix for their „The Symbian Remixes“ EP. Besides the remixes we decided to go through their catalogue and check out some mixes and podcasts. said and done, since then we are really enjoying the project a lot. Now we managed to get Freund der Familie for our podcast series. Lots of styles are offered throughout their contribution. Bumping house, smooth ambient, sharp vocals and some nice dub infusions can be found in there. This mix really offers a lot of variety and tension. It’s far from average and stands out in a positive way in contrast to most of the podcasts at the moment.

September is finally here, bringing us lots of cold days, rain and wind. In-between there are some slight hints of summer with the last sun-rays and some warm episodes every now and then. Exactly on those days you should enjoy the balearic influenced selection from Thomas Wood, or you enjoy his warm and soulful mix on the dark days to brighten them up a bit. Superb mixing, flawless grooves and a very special selection are some of the key aspects of episode #052. We are so so proud and happy to bring Thomas to the table and have him in the series. Thanks for your superb effort, your OP.
