We are finally back with a selection after quite a while, this time we wanted to focus on German rap tracks and some laidback beats. All easily done as before, new meets old and aligns in terms of quality. Half of the records come from my own collection, but for the newer stuff I picked a heavy stack from the collection of my girlfriend Rita. Smoothness guaranteed, your Ohrenschmaus Podcast. Our SLCTNs

After the split series by Jazz:Pa for #012.1 and #012.2 with his Organix and Synthetix mixes we are back with a new Hip Hop Selection by ourselves. No scratching, no juggling, just some blends and nice beats and raps. This time we kept it smooth with german rap and instrumentals.

Ohrenschmaus Podcast Hip Hop Selection #12.1 marks an important point in the history of our SLCTN series. It’s the first split mix series, inside of the series itself. For this particular project we connected with a very good friend of our own. There’s one person in Nuremberg that has a lot of knowledge about, and love for hip hop. The peeps from bratwurst city already know who we are talkin‘ about: Jazz:Pa. It doesn’t matter if you love those dope gems from back in the days, those dope soul, funk, r’n’b or disco records that were sampled or the new bass music and future beat movement. Benni knows and plays them all. He really takes care about bringing quality music from the hip hop field, whether it is new or old shit, to the city. If you don’t believe us please check the bookings at his own party Beat Thang. Besides smashing some of the finest parties in and around Nuremberg he also has his own radio show called Beat Repeat on Byte.fm. Check him out, it will be worth your time, he has mad skills. Back to our selection #12.1 in his first mix Organix he selected music with that unique old school, organic, sample based touch which is well known from the golden era back in the 90ies. While listening to his selection you will notice there are classics as well as new tracks that perfectly match that classic feeling. We are a bit late with our new years Hip Hop Selection surprise, but now the heat is on. It was a wonderful coincidence that we met Basti after a night of relaxed djing in Magdeburg at a party early in the morning. Normally conversations are really flat and mostly boring, but Basti really hooked us. He is one of us! Loving house and hip hop all the way from the early beginnings to now, so we immediately set up a slot in our Hip Hop Selection for him and here we are. It’s 2014 but if you listen to the mix it could be any year from 1990 to 2014, just check it out. Quality tunes and this guy knows how to play hip hop.
