MARKO M is one of the founder of Ohrenschmaus Podcast. To celebrate the 60th episode he got behind the turntables by himself. In the end he came up with 60 minutes full of house gems and soft techno. All the records came from Edbert’s collection. A long time friend who sadly passed away a few years ago. Finally Marko owns some of his friends‘ records and can carry a part of Alois with him physically. This mix features house classics from The Timwriter, Boo Williams and many more. It ranges from Chicago’s house sound to soft and melodic techno. Please enjoy Marko’s selection and Edbert’s eternal groove. Hugs and kisses, OP.
Agon is a longtime friend of us. That’s why we are extremely happy to introduce his mix as Ohrenschmaus Podcast #031 to you. For quite a long time he was in control of his own podcast series which was called Cirque Digital with guest mixes by Ernie, Patrick Luca, Marbod and many more. Recently this project came to an end, but don’t be too sad. The reason he didn’t continue with the series was that he launched his label Portray, which is also an party at Anita Berber in Berlin. The first release was done by Jonas Palzer and there is more to come, the Portray parties don’t lack in quality as well with bookings like the Lack Rec. crew, Marbod and RVDS as an upcoming booking. For his mix he took the deep and dub train to quickly hit the state of relaxation. This mix really is a beauty, thank you very much agon and keep up the good work, your Ohrenschmaus Podcast.
P.S.: Sorry for the delay, but we are busy with exams at the moment!
The summer is gone, the days get colder and it’s dark when you wake up and when you fall asleep as well. But the sadness only sticks around for a couple of days and at the latest when it starts to snow the smiles are back on our faces. It’s the same every year and as the four seasons do their thing regularly we keep doing what we do as well, so please say hello to podcast #023. As we already announced one of Berlins finest took over the controls, Barbara Preisinger gave us the opportunity to release a live recording from here last Deep in the Box party at Salon zur wilden Renate. It was recorded in the lovely morning hours round about 7am. In 2009 she started her well known label Slices of Life which holds on to releasing vinyl. If you take a quick look at the label description you’ll find some wise words there. Corresponding it says the produced music depicts a certain moment, feeling or status in the artists life. Therefore it would be not enough to release music for everyones hard drives, the result of many hours should be something you can hold in your hands. We really love the effort Barbara puts into her label, but of course in here Dj sets as well. We were a kind of surprised about the sound she played in this podcast, we love here deepness and driving techno sets and if you listen to the mix you can experience her funky side as well. Thanks Barbara it means a lot to us to have you in the series, the mix is really classy and that’s exactly what you are as a person.
We spontaneously were given the opportunity to upload a live recording from our beloved Desperate Houseboys. Even if this time Birke TM couldn’t join Chris Binder and Marko M. for the 11 years of Kiss Klub Party at Die Rakete in Nuremberg we decided to give it a go. The 2 Houseboys played back2back for 5 hours at the party, no monitoring and only vinyl as usual. We really liked the flow and groove they’ve setup. As said before, the Desperate Houseboys consist of Birke TM, Chris Binder, Marko M. & the beloved Edbert who isn’t with them anymore. After some own parties they are now looking for a new venue to go on, til now they booked djs like Drei Farben House, Michal Zietara and Agnes. So please enjoy this live recording and get hooked on the vibe.
It’s the 20th anniversary of our monthly house podcasts, so let’s celebrate it with one of our favourite female djs out there: Esther Duijn. We’ve been following Esther for quite a while now, could be about five to six years already. We first took notice of her when we listened to some Duijn&Douglas productions. With her partner in crime Steady Douglas, she already released a huge amount of tracks and remixes on labels like Nowar, Exquisite Music, Feelharmonic Records, Housewax, Tact Recordings and so on. Her productions can be described as basic deep house with that small magic touch that makes it so special and lets them stand out of the mass of uninspired house that is out there. Besides her productions she is – of course – a superb dj that knows how to handle her records. Esthers sets are filled with lots of classy tracks and some gems you probably never heard of. So please have fun while you’re listening to her exclusive mix for Ohrenschmaus Podcast. There are loads and loads of unknown gems in this podcast!
Ohrenschmaus Podcast welcomes a whole label for the first time, number #019 was created by the superb Slow Life Crew. We are not the only ones that took notice of this up and coming project, the first 2 releases are out and we really loved the sounds they published. Good news in this case, the 3rd release is on its way and you can already listen to the samples on soundcloud, they are sounding ace of course. So we are super happy with the recording that was mixed by Laurine & Cecilio. Dj Tree helped them with the selection and we would call this final good a success. We hope that you are ready for a triple threat take off, because once you tuned in there’s no way out. Spacey & dubby & weird, but in a good way.
P.S.: The whole crew is really lovely, the whole chat about doing a podcast and scheduling it was super nice. In the end please support this really pleasant crew and their great music.
Timnah Sommerfeldt kicks off the hot summer months at Ohrenschmaus Podcast with the 18th guestmix in our small and lovely series. Timnah is based in Basel, Switzerland and already made a name for herself. We first took notice of her when we listened to her podcast for the superb Keep It Deep series back in 2009. As vinyllovers we really welcome her effort to stay away from usb sticks, cds and other digital formats. Since we don’t like the separation between male and female djs, we don’t call her djane. She’s one of the best behind the decks you can probably listen to when it comes to warm ups, but also primetime sets are played well by her. We don’t need to write a single word about her podcast, they are superb. Just have a listen!
Besides her status as one of switzerlands finest djs she also hosts a radio show called „Home“ with Garçon. They already introduced Baaz, Ethyl, Benedikt Frey and many more to their show. But hosting a radio show and spinning records in clubs all over europe isn’t enough for Mrs. Sommerfeldt. So she decided to produce her own music which was already released on labels like: Enterbt Rec., One Step Back Ahead, Prized Records and Ron Deacon & Filburts label RDF. Busy Timnah!
There’s only one thing left to say: Thanks Timnah, we really love your recording and are more then pleased to host one of your well arranged mixes!
Good things need some time & better things need even more time, but finally it happened. We are in touch with Michal for some time now, not only being musiclovers. He’s a friend of the family. What we like most about michal is his personality, if you need some fun time, you better call Mr. Zietara. After moving to berlin he quickly started as a resident at Wilde Renate, besides his residency he still goes alongside with pets recordings and the one step back ahead posse.
Musically he is one of the best you can possibly book. He loves disco, but also serioues techno, dub and deep house make it into his recordbag. He has a lot of love for music he plays, makes and listens to. If you don’t trust us, simply listen to this mix or visit one of his shows.
We are more than happy with this deep and dubby trip, we didn’t hear him play that style for a while, but it matches our series perfectly.
Hello once again. We are still in Nuremberg and still without internet. But the sun is shinin’ and our mood couldn’t be better. Marquese is the man behind this mix, we are very happy that he was in the mood to support our small podcast. Cologne based Marquese already released on labels like: Tenderpark, Loveletters from Oslo, Niveous Records and he just made it onto La Pena under a mysterious alias. So he made himself a name already and as a dj we had the chance to see him play at apnea here in Nuremberg and we really enjoyed what he did. So here we go with a very special live recording, a great producer, dj and of course a very kind person. If you don’t believe us please ask his mates of Rote Liebe, which is a party and podcast where he has a residency. Enjoy his mix and please spread the word, your Ohrenschmaus Podcast.

We are really hooked on the grooves from Mr. Deep Afterhour, which is his own podcast with almost 4000 followers. So tune in and spread the love, thanks Der Klient for our faboulos mix number 10!
