Tilman by Lena Usenko

Interview: Tilman – “Creativity comes and goes, sometimes I end up with something great and work on it, or it’s nothing I like and just let it go.”

DJsInterviewsProducer

Tilman from Mainz is a busy person right now. After running his great klamauk label for quite a while already in a successful way he now also takes care of Fine, the label he runs with Johannes Albert. If you know Johannes and Tilman you definitely get why they get along so well and run the label with great effort. Tilman is positive all the way, not just regards his music, but as well as a person. You feel his warmth and his enthusiasm for music and life from the very beginning, even before he says something. Coming from the hip hop background, making his way through house, soul, disco and funk he now is where he is. Displpaying a huge variety of sounds and styles, how he got there and what happened on the way is just one facet we talked about.

Moony Me - Contemplatin' - Klamauk

Review: Moony Me – Contemplatin’ EP – Klamauk

HouseReviews

The “Contemplatin’ EP” by Moony Me marks the ninth release by  Mainz based imprint Klamauk. As the labels sound is strongly connected with a warm and housey attempt towards club music this EP fits perfectly in their catalogue. Three original tracks by Vienna’s very own Moony Me and a nicely done remix by Iron Curtis offer a smooth package for every dj and collector as well. Moony Me himself is quite busy at the moment. After releasing his music on labels like Uncanny Valley, Sex Panda White, Rose Records and many more, he now handles his Secret Crunch label together with the also known Roman Rauch. With his “Contemplatin’ EP” on Klamauk he once again shows his love for warm sounding, soulful house music and the joy he has toying around with samples. Crunchy house music is the final good that comes out after the production process and that’s just the way it is. Keep reading

Johannes Albert - Palm Saturdays EP (incl. Christopher Rau Remix) - Klamauk

Review: Johannes Albert – Palm Saturdays EP (incl. Christopher Rau Remix) – Klamauk

HouseReviews

With the “Palm Saturdays EP” Franconian Johannes Albert makes his first move on Mainz based label Klamauk. The 8th release adds some new facets to the catalogue with Johannes’ very own interpretation of house music. This kind of sound can be found on earlier releases from Frank Music’s label head as well. Whether it is on labels like White, Jackoff Records or his own imprint, always displaying a dirty and old fashioned house sound that bribes with roughness. The three original tracks from Johannes are companied by a superb Christopher Rau up-tempo remix, which rounds up the EP perfectly.

Review: Chocky & Tilman – Chocky & Tilman EP – Ears Have Eyes

HouseReviews

London based Chocky and Mainz based Tilman show us their ideas of club music on Peckham’s very own Ears Have Eyes. The split EP consists of two cuts from Chocky on the a-side and three tracks by Tilman on the b-side, giving us the joy of choosing between house and techno tunes to spice up our shelves. Chocky & Tilman are well known for their output on labels like Klamauk, Tenderpark, Big Bait, Disconnected and many more. While the a-side concentrates on the deeper side of house music, Tilman on the b-side shows us his multifacetedness with 3 diverse contributions.
